Phillip Shannon Staten was born September 3, 1974 in Guntersville, Alabama to Willa Staten Kirkland and the late Donald Moore. On September 7, 2007 at Huntsville Hospital, Shannon heard the sweet whispering voice of the almighty God say enter into my rest.
Shannon confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined St. Minor Primitive Baptist Church under the Reverend Lawrence Childress.
Lovely and pleasant memories of Shannon will be cherished by his mother, Willa Kirkland (Ronnie) of Huntsville, Alabama; two daughters: Sierra (CeCe) and Angel Staten; two sons: Phillip (Peanut) and James Earl Staten, all of Huntsville, Alabama; three sisters: Danielle McDaniel Lowe of Huntsville, Alabama, Carla Stain of Savanna, Georgia and Whitney Moore of Guntersville, Alabama; one brother, Quintin Spurgen of Boaz, Alabama; two aunts: Dixie Deed and Blanch Moore, both of Guntersville, Alabama; one uncle, William Staten (Bubba) of Guntersville, Alabama; devoted guardian, Tony McDaniel; a loving and devoted friend, Angela Totten and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Shannon Staten will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from the St. Minor Primitive Baptist Church, Guntersville, AL with Reverend John K. Harris officiating. Interment will be in Warrenton Cemetery. The remains of Mr. Staten will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
