Obituary

Lorna (Spencer) Gill, formerly of East Bridgewater and Port St. Lucie, Florida died Friday September 7th in the New England Medical Center Hospital, Boston, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Richard” Dick” Gill.

She was born in Newton, daughter of the late John and Gladys (Fraser) Spencer.

Lorna grew up in Newton Highlands and was a graduate of Newton High, also attended Framingham State College for 2 years.

While living in East Bridgewater, she worked in the customer service department for Bridgewater Credit Union.

Lorna was a member of the Whitman Eastern Star.

She enjoyed knitting and was a Red Sox Fan. Lorna was proud of her father that invented the thermostat and her uncle that invented the Microwave Oven.

She was the devoted mother of Richard A. Gill and his wife Linda of N. Falmouth, Deborah (Gill) Brown and her husband Robert of E. Taunton, and Lynne (Gill) Fagan and her husband Jake of Assonet; sister of Barbara Parker of Attleboro and the late Madelyn Davis ; also survived by four grandchildren, three great grandchildren , nieces and nephews..

Her services will be held Monday September 10th at 8:00 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, MA. Burial will be at a later date in the Northville Cemetery East Bridgewater, MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday September 10th 4-8.
