Mary W. (Anderson) Shaughnessy, 99 of Millis, died September 4 in her home. She was the wife of the late Martin L. Shaughnessy Sr. who died in 1962.
Born in Boston, December 25, 1907 the daughter of the late Gustof and Anna (Ringdahl) Anderson, Mrs. Shaughnessy was raised in the Roxbury section of Boston and had lived in Framingham for many years before moving to Sherborn where she lived until moving to Millis 6 years ago.
She had been a rug twister for the Roxbury Carpeting Company for many years.
While at Wood Haven in Sherborn, she enjoyed crotching and other crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Edith Savage of Millis, sons, Martin Shaughnessy Jr. of Framingham and Ronald Shaughnessy of Bay Minette Alabama.
She was the mother of the late Ruth Snellman.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sandra Baker, Eric Snellman, Marc Savage, Paula Savage, Debra Houle, Maureen Thomas, Lee Shaughnessy and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 8 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber St., Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas Church in Millis at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Framingham.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
