Clairina A. (Pelletier) Parent, age 95, died Tuesday morning, September 4, at a local nursing home.
She was the wife of the late Fernand A. Parent.
Born in Lowell, January 31, 1912, a daughter of the late Ovide and Georgianna (Giguere) Pelletier.
Mrs. Parent was a lifelong resident of Lowell and was a former parishioner of the St. Jean Baptiste Church, also belonging to the Ladies Sodality of St. Jean Baptiste. She was also involved with the Bread Fund at the Franco American School. Mrs. Parent enjoyed bowling and crocheting.
Prior to her retirement she was employed as an inspector for Honeywell Corp, of Lowell for 15 years. Prior to Honeywell she was employed as an inspector with Heinz Electric of Lowell.
She is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, Fernand L. and Joyce (D'Ambroise) Parent, of Pelham, NH, Rene V. and Helen (Ogonowski) Parent, of Dracut, MA and Nellie (Johnson) Parent of Marietta, Ohio and ; one sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Leo Rapone, of Lowell; 5 grandchildren, Suzanne Ashbaugh and husband Scott of Marietta, Ohio, Robert Parent and his wife Tammy of Concord, NH, Rachel Parent, of Pelham, NH, Joyce Morin and husband Ronald, of Pelham, NH, and David Parent and wife Leanne of Pelham, NH; 9 great grandchildren; Abbie Ashbaugh, Natalie Parent, Ashley and Michael Roscoe, Matthew, Nicholas and Sarah Morin, Brendan and Joshua Parent; also many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Leon R. Parent and the sister of the late Raymond, Alfred and Lucien Pelletier, Loretta Collette, Irene Cambray, Claire Hastings and Alice Gomes.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket Street, Lowell on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral Friday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Michael's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment at St Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
