George Francis Melling 72 of Bourne, formerly of Norwood died August 20 in Cape Cod Hospital.
Born in Boston, February 11 ,1935 the son of the late Joseph P. and Marie (Doyle) Melling, Mr. Melling was raised in Boston and had lived in Norwood for many years before moving Bourne 10 years ago.
He had been a security guard for the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston for many years before retiring.
He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr.Melling was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
He is survived by his brother Paul F.Melling Sr. and his wife Helen of North Palm Beach Fla., Thomas G. Melling and his wife Diane of Walpole and sister Clare O’Laughlin and her husband Thomas G. of Juno Beach Fla.
He is also survived vy his brother-in-law Leon “Chick” Frawley Sr. of Juno Beach Fla. He was the brother of the late Marie Frawley and Joseph A. Mellng,
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Saturday September 8 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber St. Medway at 9:00 followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, Village Street Medway at 10:00
Burial will be private.
