Laconia-Roger Maurice Gagne, 81, of 435 Union Avenue, formerly of 82 Walker Street died Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2007 at the Taylor Community.
Roger was the son of the late Fred J. and Alice (Felteault) Gagne. He was born in Laconia on September 20, 1925 where he had been a life long resident.
Prior to his retirement Roger worked for Tyler Press as a Silk Screen Printer and in the Binding & Stapling Department. He also worked for Webster Valve. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, Infantry Regiment, during WWII. Roger was a recipient of the Purple Heart, as well as the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with 2 Service Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.
Roger was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia. He was a past member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
Beside his parents, Roger was predeceased by his brother, Paul R. Gagne in February of 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday September 7, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial with military honors followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia. There were no visiting hours.
