Woonsocket
Louis L. Girard of Cote Ave. died Sunday at the Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband Helene (Pelletier) Girard. Mr. Girard was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Coutu) Girard. He was a machinist at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale for 30 years. He also worked for the Woonsocket Housing Authority for many years in the maintenance department until his final retirement in 1983.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Lucien Girard of Woonsocket, a daughter Constance Servizi also of Woonsocket, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, two brothers Eugene Girard of Woonsocket, and Roger Girard of St. Petersburg FL, and a sister Cecile Hickey of Riverside CA. He was also the brother of the late Leo and Philippe Girard, the late Rita Boulay, and the late Therese Haroian.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 6-8 pm. Donations to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O.
