WORCESTER__ Donald J. “Bud” Lush, 72, of 121 Ingleside Avenue, died Friday August 31 in his residence after a two year battle with lung cancer, smoking for 62 years.
He leaves his wife of 24 years, Eileen (O’Connor) Lush, two brothers, William F. Lush and his wife Lorraine and Edward J. Lush, all of Newfoundland, Canada; five sisters, Mary A. wife of Lawrence Finnegan of Worcester; Elizabeth T. wife of Michael Holmes of England; Barbara M. Walsh, Patricia A. wife of Ted Greene and Helen F. Patey, all of Newfoundland, Canada and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John S. and Douglas Lush. Donald was born in St. John, Newfoundland, Canada a son of William and Anna (Martin) Lush, moving to Worcester in 1961.
Mr. Lush was an engineer with the City of Worcester retiring in 2000. He was educated in Newfoundland at St. Charles School. He was a member of St. Stephen Church.
The funeral will be held on Thursday September 6 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday September 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family requests that flowers be omitted, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Church Renovation Fund, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA. 01604.
