Robert H. Lewis, of Easton, passed away on Friday August 31, 2007 after a period of failing health in The Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was 80 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Smith) Lewis.
Born in Quincy, MA on December 17, 1926, he was a son of the late Harry and Marion ( Gardner) Lewis. He was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of The Brockton Trade School. He was a veteran of WWII, and served as a Corporal in The United States Army.
Mr. Lewis was a resident of Easton for 50 years he was employed as a welder. He began working for J. F. White and Midwest Piping and later went to work for Perini Construction where he was employed for twenty – six years.
He was also a member of the Union Local # 4 of Framingham and was an avid New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed his family very much. Mr. Lewis was a member of The West Bridgewater Baptist Church.
He is survived by five children, Karen L. Bechtel of Sharon, Donna A. MacDonald of East Bridgewater, Robert W. Lewis of Taunton, Mark D. Lewis of Easton and Suzanne J. O’Shea of East Bridgewater. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and eight great – grandchildren. He was also a grandfather to the late Derek MacDonald and a brother to the late Phyllis Matson and Virginia Lewis.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday September 4, 2007 at 8:30 A.M. from The Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, (OFF RT. 138 AT THE WEBSTER BANK), Stoughton, followed by a funeral service in The West Bridgewater Baptist Church, 83 North Elm Street, West Bridgewater at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at South Easton Cemetery, Easton. In lieu of flowers, donations to The West Bridgewater Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 83 North Elm Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379 in Robert’s memory, would be appreciated.
Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Monday September 3, 2007 from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
