Obituary

DENNISPORT-Viola E. (Lewinski) Hannon, 97, of Dennisport, formerly of Worcester, died Saturday, September 1st in Cape Cod Hospital. Her husband, William J. Hannon, died in 1984. She leaves a son, Daniel J. Hannon and his wife Arlene of Worcester and Dennisport; a daughter, Jean M. Kasala and her husband Edward of Pittsfield; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Stanley Lewinski and Henry Pryczgoda and three sisters, Helen and Janet Lewinski and Stasia Hammond, predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Adam and Rose (Pryczgoda) Lewinski and moved to Dennisport in 1970. Mrs. Hannon was a shipper for many years for Henry L. Hanson Co. retiring in 1972. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and gardening and she followed politics closely.

The funeral is Wednesday, September 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 4th from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
