New Bedford – Eleanor (Harding) Cataen, aged 46 years, died Saturday, September 01, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Frank Cataen of New Bedford, mother of Jose Harding of New Bedford and grandmother of Jose Harding Jr., Jairee Greene, Amir Harding, Jeremiah Harding and Isiah Harding. Mrs. Cataen is survived by her brothers Charles, Armand, Eddie, Edgar and William Harding all of New Bedford and Rene Harding of Fall River, her sisters Debra Parris of Fairhaven, Carol Mendes of New Bedford and Barbara Thibeault of Maine and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lorraine, Robert, Ronald and George Harding.
Mrs. Cataen was the daughter of the late Mary Doris (Lapointe) Harding and George Alden Harding. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. Mrs. Cataen enjoyed going to bingo and crocheting.
Mrs. Cataen’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 10 A.M. with Funeral Services beginning at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.
