BOURNE____Gregory G. Sokol, 87, of 25 Old Dam Rd., died Tuesday December 17 in his home.
He leaves his wife of 53 years Rita H. (Grimala) Sokol, two daughters, Karen A. O'Brien of Mendon and Lynn Sokol Webber of Paxton; three grandchildren, Karalyn Rose O'Brien of Mendon and Gregory and Elizabeth Webber both of Paxton; a nephew and two nieces. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Peter and Kamila Sokol and had lived in Wareham and then Bourne for 18 years.
Mr. Sokol was a cloth cutter many years for Anthony Roberts Company of Milford and retired in 1979.He was an Army veteran of World War II and served as a Corporal and a radar operator in the Philippines.
Mr. Sokol was a member of St. Casimirs Church and Knights of Lithuania Council 26 both in Worcester.He would have observed his 88th birthday on Friday Dec. 20th.
The funeral will be held on Friday Dec. 20 from Henry - Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimirs Church, 41 Providence St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday December 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Members of Knight of Lithuania, Council 26 will meet at 6 p.m. to conduct their ritual.
