Obituary

DRACUT - Alfred N. Cormier, 71, a resident of Dracut, died Tuesday August 28 2007, at his home.

He was born in Lowell on February 17, 1936, and was a son of the late Edward and Emelie (Allard) Cormier. He was the eighth of thirteen children. He received his education in Lowell schools. He attended Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Grammar School and St. Joseph High School, both in Lowell.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Cormier was employed for 50 years by Lowell Shoe Company in Lowell and then in Hudson, NH.

In his free time he enjoyed gardening

He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish at Ste. Therese Church in Dracut.

He is survived by five sisters Irene Ste. Marie of Chelmsford, Ann Walters and Alice Page, both of Lowell, Ruth Shaw of Dracut, Lucille Cayer and her husband Richard Cayer of Florida; three brothers Rev. Leo G. Cormier of Dracut, George Cormier and his wife Mary and Edward Cormier and his wife Loraine, all of Lowell; a brother-in-law Emile Ste. Marie of Lowell; three sisters-in-law Lorry Cormier, Carolyn Cormier, and Jeanne Cormier, all of Dracut; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Charles Cormier, Jean Ste. Marie, Robert Cormier, and Frank Cormier.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 5 until 8p.m.. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 9a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10a.m. at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, Dracut.
