Obituary

Fall River - Daniel J. Sheahan, 70, of Westport died peacefully surrounded by family and friends, Monday, August 27, 2007. He was the husband of Marguerite M. (Demers) Sheahan, to whom he was married for 42 years.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Daniel M. and Gertrude (Powers) Sheahan, he had lived in Westport for 30 years. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army. A graduate of Coyle High School and the College of the Holy Cross Class of 1959, he earned his Masters Degree from Bridgewater State College in 1965. Prior to his retirement, he was a guidance counselor for the Fall River School Department. He was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and also a member of the Fall River Administrators Association. Mr. Sheahan was an avid runner, handball player, swimmer and kayaker who shared his love of sports and literature with his son Daniel.

Including his wife, he is survived by a son: Daniel P. Sheahan of Westport; 2 brothers: David R. Sheahan of Westport and John F. Sheahan of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, September 8, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
