Theresa J. Goddard of Methuen was called home Friday, August 24, 2007 surrounded by family. Born February 16, 1927 in Lawrence, Mass., she graduated Sacred Heart High School in Lawrence and sang in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church choir in Methuen. Theresa was the devoted wife of the late Arthur V. Goddard for 50 years. The couple owned Walter's and Rosie's variety stores in Methuen before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida for 20 years. Theresa worked at Maria Manor before returning with Arthur to their daughter's Methuen home in 1997.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Theresa will be greatly missed by her son, Lawrence Goddard of Salem, NH; daughters, Carolyn Fritchy, husband James, and Dorothea Johnson, all of Methuen; and son Randy Goddard of Townsend; sister, Germaine Ouellette, grandchildren Lorre Fritchy, spouse Gayle Green and their son, Camden Green, and Amanda Christensen, husband James, all of Lawrence; Jeremy Goddard and fiancée Carolynne Sott of Stoneham; and Jonathan Goddard and girlfriend Katie Croteau of Haverhill.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours Wednesday, August 29, 2007, 3pm-7pm at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street , Methuen, MA 01844. Services are Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 10am at North Parish of North Andover, 190 Academy Road, followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
