Obituary

Ernest W. Laplume 70, died peacefully Sunday surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucille (Fluette) Laplume. Mr. and Mrs. Laplume celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on January 21st of this year.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Albert and Yvette (Gagnon) Laplume. Mr. Laplume was a lifelong city resident.
Mr. Laplume was a grinder for the Carlin Machine Co. in Southborough, MA for 20 years, and also worked as a grinder for the Camelot Company in Uxbridge until his retirement in 2005.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Woonsocket Sportsmen’s Club for many years.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Richard Laplume and his wife Anna of Millville, MA, a daughter Susan Laplume of Rochester, NH, a granddaughter Rebecca Lapierre of Millville, a sister Lorraine Robidoux of Woonsocket and a sister in law Annette Fluette also of Woonsocket. He is also survived by a sister in law Simonne Lacasse and her husband Hector of Ormond Beach FL.
His funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Foundation, 622 George Washington Hwy, Lincoln, RI 02865.
