CHERRY VALLEY____Pelagia “Pela” (Kolnacki) Green, 48, of Cherry Valley, died at home after a long battle with cancer on Sunday August 26 surrounded by her family and friends.
She leaves a son, Adam J. Green and a daughter, Monica D. Green both of Cherry Valley; two sisters, Teresa Biedrzycki of Oxford and Krystyna Bojarzynska in Poland; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was born in Poland, a daughter of Leon and Danuta (Werda) Kolnacki and later lived in Worcester before moving to Cherry Valley in 1995.
Pela was a phlebotomist five years for UMASS Memorial Medical Center. Previously she was a nurses aide for Hermitage Nursing Home, Worcester. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Worcester. Pela enjoyed working as well as caring for and helping people.
The funeral will be held on Thursday August 30 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday August 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
