Harriett (Hill) Cross, 94 of Londonderry, NH died August 26, 2007 in the Haven Healthcare Center, Derry after a period of failing health. She was born in Concord, NH on November 27, 1912 the daughter of Arthur H. and Nellie Mae (Graham) Hill. She was raised in Danbury, NH. She graduated from Kimball Union Academy and Plymouth Normal School. She was an elementary school teacher for 31 years, teaching for the Oyster River School District for many of those years. She had been a member of various professional and social groups, including the Business and Professional Womens Association and the Silver Squares both of Durham, NH. She also belonged to the NH Retired Teachers Association. She moved from Durham to Londonderry in 1993.
She is survived by her son, Art Cross and his wife, Diana of Londonderry, four grandchildren, Mandy Cross and her husband, Dr. Keith Chiappa of Arlington, MA, Adam Cross of Prescott, AZ, Palah Sandling of Roseda, CA, Greg Sandling and his wife Darci of Anza, CA, three great-grandchildren, also nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Cross and by her daughter, Sandra Sandling both in 1997.
Following cremation, friends may call on Saturday September 1, 2007 from 12 – 2:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Following the visiting hours, a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation of NH, 814 Elm St., Suite 300, Manchester, NH 03101-2230.
