Mrs. Geneva Ruth Cain, 77, passed away at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS on Saturday, August 25, 2007. She was born to the late James J. & Mary Hodge Hollowell in Lafayette County, MS and was married to Mr. Dorris Cain. She retired from Surrette's Grocery Store in Water Valley, MS, and was a member of the Sardis Lake Baptist Church in Sardis, MS, and Triad Senior Citizens Group.
A visitation will be held at Sardis Lake Baptist Church in Sardis, MS on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin A. Crofford officiating. The committal will be held in Mt. Liberty Cemetery in Calhoun County with Brandon Pratt, Chad Pratt, Dwayne Pratt, Josh Pratt, Drew Pratt, and Dalton Martin serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Cain is survived by her husband, Dorris Cain of Batesville, MS; a daughter, Kay & Bill Harmon of Batesville, MS; two sons, Jimmy & Patricia Pratt of Water Valley, MS and Michael & Liz Pratt of Paris, MS; two sisters, Juanita Rainey of Edmond, OK and Dale Sartin of Water Valley, MS; a brother, Calvin Hollowell of West Point, MS; 3 grandchildren, Dwayne Pratt, Brandon Pratt and Chad Pratt; 3 step-grandchildren,Darlene Pritchard, Dixie Thetford and Bubba Thetford; 4 great grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
