Winifred I, Plausse, 83

Winifred I.(Willis) “Winnie” Plausse, 83, of Norton died on Friday August 24, 2007 at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Norton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles “Rudy” Plausse for 35 years and the former wife of the late Frederick C. Rego, Sr.
Born in Easton, MA on March 27, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Elmer C. and Mildred I. (Griffin) Willis.
She grew up in Easton, was educated in Easton schools and was a 1942 graduate of Easton High School.
Mrs. Plausse was employed as a nurse at the former Goddard Hospital in Stoughton and at the former Country Haven Nursing Home in Norton until her retirement in 1995. She had also worked at group homes for the mentally disabled and managed her own resident home at her home.
Winnie enjoyed camping, trips taken with her late husband Rudy and raising and showing their champion bantam chickens throughout New England. When younger her other hobbies included hunting scuba diving and horseback riding. She also enjoyed trips to the Cape Cod Canal and the ocean.
A dedicated mother to her children she was a former Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 18 of Norton. She was supportive of all her children’s and grandchildren’s various sporting events serving as the #1 Fan in the bleachers. She had sponsored fresh air children throughout the years. Mrs. Plausse had lived in Norton for the past 50 years and was formerly of Mansfield and Easton.
She will be sadly missed by her family and truly loved forever. Her family also wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Epoch of Norton for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Winnie.
She is survived by her loving children: Cheryl A. Carine and her husband John of Norton, Donna R. Parker and her companion Tom of South Weymouth, Frederick C. Rego, Jr. and his wife Angie of Virginia, Charlene M. Fogerty and her husband John of South Carolina, Rudy W. Plausse and his wife Beth of Norton and Edward L. Plausse and his wife Debbie of Norton. Her devoted brother Tippy C. Willis and his wife Betty of Norton. Her dear companion Al Florio of Franklin. Also survived by her cherished 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday August 29th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Seeley Cemetery, Easton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday August 28th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
