Marianna Stocka of Norwich, CT passed away peacefully at Mystic Manor in Mystic in the early afternoon of August 23rd, 2007.
She was born in Zyrardow, Poland daughter to Henryk and Janina Wypyszynska. She finished Academy of Warsaw Medical School and practived medicine in her home town of Zyrardow before arriving in California and earning her medical license there. She served her internship at then Santa Barbara General Hospital followed by close to twenty years of private practice in Santa Barbara/Goleta area. She subsequently retired and went traveling before settling in Tenerife, Canary Islands where her health deteriorated. She then returned to Europe and spent time with friends and family before coming to Connecticut to spend the last months with her son, Dr. Jerzy Stocki of North Stonington.
Other than her son, she is survived by cousins, Virginia Bailey of Long Beach, CA; Maria Latek of Zyrardow, Poland; Rene Prunier of Villefranche, France, Maria Anna Wilson of Melbourne, Australia, Zbigniew Rozpara and Barbara Mistral of Zyrardow, Poland, and Margaret Moss of London, England.
