Obituary

Elsie E. Eveline) Bailey, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton, passed away after an extended illness, on Monday August 20, 2007 at The Caritas Norwood Hospital. She was 82 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Bailey Jr.

Born December 20, 1924 in Canton, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Perry) Eveline. She attended Canton Public Schools and Canton High School. She resided in Stoughton for the past fifty – eight years.

Mrs. Bailey was employed as a Packer by the The Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton for eighteen years and prior to her retirement, as a Clerk with The Stop and Shop Supermarket Chain in Stoughton for over ten years.

Her hobbies included: gardening, cooking, eating seafood, travelling to Plymouth, Massachusetts, watching John Wayne and Gene Autry western movies and she had a special interest in pets, especially her dog Yogi and her cat Mini. She was a very hardworking mother and wife.

She is survived by her children, William C. Bailey and Susan M. Bailey, both of Stoughton. She was also the mother of the late Kathy E. Shepard. Other survivors include her sisters, Anna Mielbye and her husband Fred of Florida, Doris DeCambre of Florida, Mary Memmolo and her husband Carl of Massachusetts and her brother Charles Eveline of Canton. She was also the grandmother of Bonnie M. Wuschke and her husband Philip J. Jr. of Stoughton, Michael P. Hood of Stoughton and Kelly A. Chaplain and her husband Arthur also of Stoughton. In addition, she was the great – grandmother of Vivian E. Wuschke of Stoughton and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Her funeral will be held on Friday August 24, 2007 at 7:45 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, (OFF RT. 138 AT THE WEBSTER BANK), Stoughton. Followed by a mass of Christian burial for the repose of her soul in St. James Catholic Church, 560 Page Street, N. Stoughton at 9:00 A.M. The Pastor Rev. John E. Kelly, officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one’s choice, in Elsie’s memory, would be appreciated.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 23, 2007 from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
