Lila Welch Gaulding, 74, of Tifton died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2005, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Lillard will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Gaulding was born on December 12, 1930 in Thompson (McDuffie County) and was the daughter of Lonnie Welch and Beatrice Dupree Welch, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Willard Gaulding, Sr.; one step-son, Willard Gaulding, Jr.; and one brother. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Tifton's First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gaulding is survived by one son, Greg Gaulding of Tifton; one step-daughter, Beatrice Cater of Tifton; two sisters, Madeline Pittard of Atlanta and Lois Lovie of Atlanta; her primary care-giver, Jan Sellers of Tifton; one grandson, James Gregory Gaulding of Tifton; and two step grandchildren, Jamie Cater, Jr. and Vonnie Cater Scott, both of Tifton.
