Obituary

Diane M. Guilfoyle, passed away Saturday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a extended illness, she was fifty nine years old. Born in Winchester, she was the daughter of Dorothy A. (Eckhardt) Guilfoyle of Medford and the late Frank T. Guilfoyle.

Diane was raised in Medford, she graduated from Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton in 1961. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Brighton. Diane spent twelve years in religious life with the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in Providence, R.I. and was known in religion as Sr. Mary Thomasine. She attended The University of Albuquerque where she earned a degree in nursing and practiced as a registered nurse at the Children´s Hospital in Boston and at other area hospitals as well as various area nursing homes. She shared a close relationship with all her family, and always considered Medford her home.

Surviving in addition to her mother Dorothy A. Guilfoyle, are a brother Frank T. Guilfoyle III of Flushing, Michigan; three sisters Judy A. Beatrice, Dorothy A. Bolton, and JoAnn Guilfoyle all of Medford. Also several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 high St. Medford at 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Visiting Hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home on Monday, December 16, from 3 thru 7.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy be sent in Diane’s memory to the Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Alumni Association 617 Cambridge St., Brighton, MA 02135
