Dorothy Howell Hand, 31, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, November 30, 2005, in Fitzgerald from injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. B. J. Funk will officiate with burial to follow in Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Howell, Jamie Sawyer, Marlo Lemon, G. W. Horn, Fredrick Howell Jr. and Kenny Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Turner, John T. Smith Jr., Edgar Cabanas and Fredrick Howell Sr. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Hand was born on May 9, 1974 in Tampa, Florida and was the daughter of Marie Howell Smith and her step-father, John Thomas Smith, Sr. of Tifton. She was of the Baptist faith, a beautician and a full-time student at East Central Tech in Fitzgerald.
In addition to her mother and step-father, Ms. Hand is survived by her husband, Roy Hand of Morgan; one brother, John Thomas Smith, Jr. of Tifton; and two sisters, Tabatha Adams of Tifton and Nina Smith of Omega.
