WEBSTER - Stanislaw Sadowski, 86, passed away Monday, August 20, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, JoAnn (Boulanger) Sadowski; a daughter, Patricia J. Rosenthal of Milford; a sister, Kazimiera Zygmunt in Poland; a grandson, three granddaughters, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Peter S. Sadowski in 1993 and by a sister Aniela Podolak in 1996.
He was born in Lublin, Poland, the son of Peter and Feliksa (Wajler) Sadowski. He studied in high school to be a tailor, but was sent to a labor camp in Germany for the duration of World War II. He immigrated here in 1949. He became a United States citizen in the 1950's.
Mr. Sadowski was a weaver at Anglo Fabrics Company for many years before he retired in 1988.
He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and the Polish National Alliance. He loved gardening, playing cards and dancing.
The funeral will be held Thursday, August 23, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August
