Christopher F. Devnew, 49, a life long resident of Mansfield died unexpectedly on Monday August 20, 2007 at his home.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 18, 1958 he was a loving son of the late David R. and Dorothy M. (Schuyler) Devnew, Sr.
A 1976 graduate of Mansfield High School, Mr. Devnew had worked part time for RIM Engineering in Mansfield since 1981 and had formerly worked at Graphic Labs in Mansfield for 4 years. He had also traveled for several years with an Auctioneer helping to move antiques for large antique shows on the East Coast.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Mansfield where he and his late mother Dot were helpful with the Food and Friends Group at the church. As a young man he was both a cub scout and a boy scout.
Chris’s hobbies included building military models, collecting coins and playing chess. He was a kind person to all and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his devoted brothers and sisters; David R. Devnew, Jr. and his wife Lila of Bowie, Maryland, Dorothy S. Wilson and her husband Robert, III of Beaufort, North Carolina, Robert H. Devnew of Mansfield, John S. Devnew and his wife Karen of Norton, Lindsay A. Devnew of Attleboro and Annette K. Birman and her husband Douglas of Cumberland, R.I. Also survived by his several loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday August 29th at 12:30 P.M. at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 47 High St. Mansfield.
Visiting hours have been omitted and burial will be private.
