Obituary

Velma Gladys Hall Davis, 84, of Tifton died Monday, December 5, 2005, at Tift Health Care following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Gerald Purvis and Rev. A. J. Hall will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Lloyd, Corey Lloyd, Shane Davis, Troy Davis, Randall Hall and Doug Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cleo McCallister Sunday School Class of Liberty Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Ms. Davis was born on February 20, 1921 in Sparks and was the daughter of Evan F. Hall and Lizzie Simmons Hall, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Glen Davis, who died in 1985. She was a retired supervisor with Lee Manufacturing and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Ms. Davis is survived by two sons, Wayne Davis of Albany and Jimmy Davis of Leesburg; two daughters, Velma Kimbrell of Tifton and Juanita Sigman of Woodstock; five brothers, S. T. Hall of Bartow, Florida, Ralph Hall of Norman Park, Marcus Hall of Eastman, A. J. Hall of Camilla and Emerson Hall of Byron; one sister, Bobbie Lott of Carrollton; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
