Obituary

Salem, NH – Alfio J. Fichera 80 yrs. died Monday August 20, 2007 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. .

Born in Lawrence, MA, Mr. Fichera was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
During world War II Mr. Fichera served his country in the United States Navy, and at wars end he was honorably discharged as a Seaman, First Class.
Alfio had been employed with Watertown Arsenel in Watertown, MA for 15 yrs. and for 31 years with Picattiny Arsenel in Dover, New Jersey as a Machinist before retiring.

Mr. Fichera was an avid fisherman in both fresh water in the lakes region and saltwater near the Jetty’s at Salisbury & Plum Island and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his nephews, sons & grandson.

The widower of Grace (Autieri) Fichera survivors include 2 son’s, John J. Fichera of New Jersey, and Alfred J. & wife Mary Fichera of Raynham, MA, 2 brothers Joseph Rigoli and companion Ide M. Schiavone of Methuen, and John Fichera of Andover. Survivors also include 1 grandson Joseph H. Fichera of Raynham and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Friday morning at 10:30 A.M. from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
