Domenico G. Cinquini, 82, of Andover formerly of Lowell, Mansfield and Sanbornton, N.H., died on Sunday August 19, 2007 at Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria D. (Bartolozzi) Cinquini who passed away on July 23, 1998.
Born in Bagni di Lucca, Italy on December 2, 1924 he was a dear son of the late Luigi and Maddalena ( Martinelli) Carli.
Domenico was educated in both Italy and France. He moved to America in 1968. While living in Italy he was a member of the Italian Army. He later joined the resistance during WWII and under the German Army became a prisoner of war.
Mr. Cinquini was a Waiter having worked for the Locke-Ober Café in Downtown Boston for over 20 years prior to retiring.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Domenico was also an avid painter and artist. He enjoyed sculpturing, oil painting, fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his loving family. Mr. Cinquini was very proud of being fluent in several languages including Italian, French, Portuguese and English.
He is survived by his devoted children; Stefania Catanese and her husband Robert of Mansfield and Marco Cinquini and his wife Sandra of Methuen. His cherished granddaughters; Daniela Catanese and her companion Allen Bouley and Angela Catanese and her companion Jason Cunningham. He was the dear brother of Ione Cinquini and Maria Capineri both of Italy and the late Giselda Martinelli, Valentina Martinelli and Lina Della Casa. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday August 23rd at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday August 22nd from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
