Germaine G. Bellavance, 94

Germaine G. (Larence) Bellavance, 94, of Mansfield died on Monday August 13, 2007 at the Epoch Senior Care Center in Norton surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was the beloved wife of the late Mansfield Fire Chief Cyril N. Bellavance who died on April 28, 1985. Mr. and Mrs. Bellavance were married on September 5, 1936.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on March 26, 1913 she was a dear daughter of the late Ernest F. and Alida (Laliberte) Larence.
She grew up in Central Falls and was educated in Central Falls schools. After her marriage she moved to Mansfield where she served as a dedicated homemaker to her loving family. She had also helped in the running of her families business on Church St. in Mansfield.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Mrs. Bellavance shared her devotion of religion by teaching CCD class at St. Mary’s Church.
When younger she enjoyed the wonderful trips taken with her late husband. Her hobbies included playing card games, bingo, crocheting and she was also an avid WWF fan. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 71 years.
She is survived by her devoted children; Retired Mansfield Deputy Fire Chief Richard R. Bellavance and his wife Yvette of Middleboro, Retired Mansfield Fire Lieutenant Normand E. Bellavance of Arizona, Bernard W. Bellavance and his wife Nancy of Sandwich, Jeannine A. Caprarella and her husband James of Mansfield, Mansfield Fire Chief Robert P. Bellavance and his wife Pauline of North Attleboro and Donald F. Bellavance and his wife Katherine of Norton. She was the sister of Joseph M. Larence of Cumberland, R.I. and the late Arthur J. Larence, Hector Larence, Beatrice A. Bachand, Wilfred E. Larence and Raymond F. Larence. Also survived by her cherished 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Keith Bellavance.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday August 18th at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St.(Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 17th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Germaine’s memory to the Mansfield Ambulance Trust Fund, care of, Town Treasurers Office Six Park Row Mansfield, MA 02048.
