THOMAS MAIN
LEDYARD- Thomas F. Main, 73, of Ledyard, passed away Thursday.
Mr. Main was born on February 20, 1934 the son of the late Frederick Main and Anna Tucker Main Stimpson.
He was employed as a bus driver and crossing guard for the Ledyard School Board before his retirement in June, 2006. For over 30 years, he enjoyed attending local fairs with his ponies for pull weight competitions
Mr. Stimpson is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Grace Avery; his children, Thomas F. Main Jr. of N. Stonington, Kevin J. Main of Ledyard, Sandra Pasieka of Mystic, and Michelle Woods of MS; stepchildren, Grace Morin of ME, Rhonda Thayer of Dayville, Diane Meriwther and Debra Avery of Norwich, Denise Denis of FL, Carol Williams of Norwich, Sheila Rusiecki of NY, Janice Beauregard of MA, James Avery of Mystic, Frederick Avery of Groton, Dennis Avery of Jewett City, Thomas Avery of Plainfield, and Ricky Avery of Ledyard; his siblings, Clifford A. “Chip” Stimpson of Ledyard and Mabel A. Stimpson of Monroe, OH; 3 grandchildren,1 great-grandchild, 35 step-grandchildren and 34 step-greatgrandchildren.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 5-6:45pm, immediately followed by a service at 7pm. Committal of his ashes will be conducted at Peckham-Brown Cemetery, Ledyard on Friday at 11am. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice, P.O. Box 902, Uncasville CT 06382.
