Helen M. Bolton, 90, of Londonderry, NH, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 in her home. Mrs. Bolton was born in Boston, MA on March 16, 1917, a daughter of the late Clarence A. and Margaret T. (Shea) Wilson. She was raised in Windham, NH, and was a resident of Londonderry since 1969, formerly living in W. Boxford, MA. Mrs. Bolton was a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, NH where she was Miss Salem and also played varsity basketball. She also graduated from MacIntosh Business School in Lawrence, MA. During the 1960’s she obtained her pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. Mrs. Bolton retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA following 30 years of employment. She had formerly been employed as a legal secretary for Devine & Tobin in Manchester, NH, and as an executive secretary for John W. Bolton & Sons in Lawrence. She was a member of St. Mark's Church in Londonderry.
She is survived by two sons, John G. Bolton and his wife Constance of Cambridge, MA, and William A. Bolton and his wife Carol of Arlington, MA; one daughter, Mary B. Fay of Londonderry; one daughter-in-law, LeAnne S. Bolton of Petersburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Thomas F. Fay, III, James W. Fay, Ashlin M. Bolton, Samantha B. Fay, Derek W. Bolton, Emma T. Bolton, and Hannah B. Bolton; one brother, Thomas Wilson of Windham; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Thomas B. Bolton who died in 2005.
Calling hours were on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 4 - 7pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, with funeral services following at 7:00pm. Urn burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry on Friday, August 17 at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities USA, P.O.
