Dr. Denise M. Winings, 52, of Londonderry, NH died at her residence on August 11, 2007. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 3, 1955, a daughter of Beverly (Potts) Abraham and John Abraham and was raised in Martinsville, IN. Dr. Winings was a graduate of Indiana University and the Indiana University Medical School and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Lambda Delta Societies. She served her internship and residency at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME and moved to New Hampshire in 1985 while practicing medicine at Walk In Clinics in Salem, NH and Londonderry. She started her private practice in 1989 and continued for the next 18 years. Dr. Winings was a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and both the N.H. Medical Society and the American Medical Society. She was a member of the Bethany Covenant Church in Bedford, NH.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Timothy J. Winings of Londonderry; a daughter, Marissa Anne Winings of Londonderry; a son, Nathan Robert Winings of Londonderry, Her mother, Beverly Abraham of Greenwood, IN; her father, John Abraham of Martinsville, IN; a sister, Deborah Abraham of Greenwood, IN; a brother, John W. Abraham of Greenwood, IN; and also by three nephews.
Dr. Winings expressed her gratitude to her wonderful patient base and thanks for their prayers and thoughts.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral service was held on Wednesday at 10 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany Covenant Church, One Covenant Way, Bedford, NH 03110.
