WORCESTER-Joseph T Daly, 47, died Thursday, December 12th at home after a long illness. He leaves his wife, Debra A. (Brennan) Daly; 2 sons, Joseph T. Daly, Jr. of Sterling and Patrick B. Daly of Worcester; his parents, John A. and Phyllis A. (Monast) Daly of Worcester; 2 brothers, John A. Daly, Jr. and Thomas G. Daly both of Worcester; 2 sisters, Maureen F. Scott of Worcester and Anne M. Olson of Clifton Park, New York and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School and Becker Junior College. Mr. Daly worked as a splice technician for Verizon for 27 years before becoming ill. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, Knights of Columbus, Alhambra Council #88, former President and business manager of the IBEW Local #2325, he was a former Vice-President and member of the AFL-CIO Worcester/Framingham Labor Council, and was a former member of the City of Worcester Human Rights Commission. He loved fishing and he was a sports enthusiast.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 14th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday, December 13th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to St. Joseph’s Abbey, 167 North Spencer Road, Spencer, MA 01562 or to the Visiting Nurse’s Association, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
