Jean P. (Peterson) Murphy, 71, of Wellesley Hills, died August 9, 2007. She was the beloved wife of Gerald G. Murphy.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Einar and Esther (Kenney) Peterson. She was a longtime resident of Wellesley Hills. She worked for the Wellesley Public Schools for over 25 years, most recently as a secretary at the Wellesley High School.
She was the devoted mother of Stephen G. Murphy of Wellesley and David L. Murphy of Chesterfield, MO. Loving grandmother of Garrett R. and Sarah I. Murphy of Wellesley and Lily J. and Jessica M. J. Murphy of Chesterfield, MO.
Funeral service in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Saturday at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM and Saturday 10-12 Noon.. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the Parmenter Wayside Hospice, 10 Green Way, Wayland, MA 01776.
