WORCESTER___Albert A. Glodis, 84, of 346 Wildwood Avenue, died Wednesday August 8 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Frances (Wilson) Glodis, two sons, Vernon and his wife Sandy of Clymer, PA., James and his fiancée, Sandy of Narragansett, R.I., two daughters, Karen of Worcester and Nancy and her husband Arthur of Spring Hill, FL., a brother, George of Washington, D.C., nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick. He was born in Worcester, a son of Domenic and Katherine (Bacimkus) Glodis and lived here all his life.
Mr. Glodis was a quality control inspector 42 years for Heald Machine Company, and retired in 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Rhineland and Central Europe. Albert was a member of St. Casimir Church, the Lithuanian Social Club and was a member and past commander of the former Lithuanian War Veterans Organization. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School.
The funeral will be held on Monday August 13 with a service at 10:00 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
