Charles M. Merson, 54, formerly of Beverly, died early Thursday morning, August 9, 2007, in the Brigham Manor, Newburyport, following an extended illness.
Born in Danvers on May 10, 1953, he was the son of the late Harvey “Ted” and Frances J. (Lynch) Merson. He was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1971.
Charlie had been employed as a machinist for many years on the North Shore. He had also been a longtime member of the Franco American Club and the Beverly Lodge of Elks, No. 1309.
He is survived by a son, Michael Merson, and a daughter, Sarah Merson both of Ipswich, five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ellen and Phillip Perkins of Hamilton, Frances and Richard Saunders of Danville, NH, Maryanne Merson of NJ, Susan J. Drohan of Rockport and Amy Tejeda of Lynn, two brothers, Paul C. and Thomas T. Merson both of Beverly, his former spouse, Terri (Burlingham) Merson, three aunts, Emily Hansen of Beverly, Ruth Fillaccio and Mary Lynch both of CA, two uncles, Gerald Merson of Framingham and David Merson of Londonderry, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister, Nancy J. Merson and a brother-in-law, William G. “Bill” Drohan.
His funeral service will be held on Monday morning in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held privately in the North Beverly Cemetery.
