Obituary


Joseph Irving Henderson, 79 of Vero Beach, FL, died Sat, August 4th at the Indian River Medical Center. Father of Joanne Hunt of Ferndale, WA, Maida Henderson of Santa Fe, NM, Rob Henderson and his wife Karen of Vero Beach, FL and Debbie Sentance and her husband Joe of Vero Beach, FL. Brother of Retired Commander Stanley Henderson and his wife Mary of Alexandria, VA and the late Richard Henderson. He also leaves sister-in-law Shirley Henderson of Scituate, seven grandchildren, a great grandson and many cousins. He was the son of the late Irving and Alice K. (Wadsworth) Henderson. He attended Norwell schools and was a graduate of Wilbraham Academy. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He pitched summer ball for the Boston Red Sox before entering the Navy in 1945 and had been an alderman at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Framingham, MA. He had been an international heavy machinery salesman for Alpine American before his retirement. There will be a Graveside Service for friends and family on Saturday, August 11th at 10 o’clock at the Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell. Arrangements by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet. Donations in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 20 Walnut St, Suite 318, Wellesley, MA 02481.
