Obituary

Winchester, Lena Benincasa, age 91 of Winchester, died Tuesday at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Benincasa was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Matteo and the late Anna (Ansaldo) Cimino. She was a life long resident of Winchester and was active in many organization. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality of the Immaculate Conception Church and was also active in organizing the church bingo. Lena was a member of the Ladies Auxilary V.F.W. Winchester post 3719, the Medford Senior Citizens, the Revere Handicap Club and the Winchester Democratic Party for many years. She was also an active contributor to the Emanuel House in Boston. Her hobbies included crochet, ceramics, craft making and traveling. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Lena´s memory to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Benincasa is the beloved wife of the late Matthew Benincasa. She is survived by their three sons and their spouses; Vincent and his wife Catherine of Winchester, Matthew and his wife Laura of Reading, Robert and his wife Bonnie of Manchester By-The-Sea. Also survived by nine loving grandchildren and twelve loving great grandchildren. In addition to her late husband, Lena is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers; Anna DiZio, Jennie Bono, Joseph and Domenic Cimino.

Visiting hours are Friday from 4 thru 8 PM at McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 14th in the Immaculate Conception Church, 79 Sheridan Circle, Winchester, at 9 AM. Services will conclude with burial in the Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
