Helen M. (Cavicchi) Lankalis, 86, of Bridgewater, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Golden Living Oakhill Nursing Home in Middleboro after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Lankalis.
Born May 10, 1921, in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Pearl (Malaguti) Cavicchi.
A lifelong resident of Bridgewater, she was a graduate of Bridgewater Academy High School, Class of 1938. She also attended William’s School of Business in Brockton.
Mrs. Lankalis worked for the school department for 50 years, as secretary for the superintendent’s office and at the Hunt School, retiring in 1985. She had also worked in the treasurer’s office at town hall.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater, where she was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Women’s Club.
She was the wife of the late Joseph; mother of Richard Lankalis of Bridgewater and the late Barbara LaCrosse; mother-in-law of Tom LaCrosse of Middleboro; grandmother of Ryan and Taylor LaCrosse of Middleboro; sister of Robert Cavicchi and his wife Connie of Bridgewater. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Tuesday at 8:15 am. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9 am. Visiting hours Monday 4-7 pm. Burial St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Bridgewater.
