Joseph Gordon Mawson,79, of Salem, NH, died suddenly on Tuesday at Salemhaven Nursing home, Salem, NH.
Joe “Bear” was born in Lawrence, MA, where he grew up. Joe & Bette lived in Salem, NH for over 57 years.
Joe worked for Flieder Paint, White St. Paint, and Hardy & Pike for most of his life. He was also a custodian for Salem, NH elementary schools. He was a member of the Derry/Salem Elks Lodge and was past president of the Salem Lions Club. Joe enjoyed polka music and was a member of the “Soundabouts”. He enjoyed horse racing, gardening, fishing, and hunting. Joe will always be known for his sense of humor.

3 Grandchildren: Jason, Joseph, & Mary
2 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
