DUDLEY – Stella C. (Cholewa) Leclair, 88, of 90 Ramshorn Road, died Wednesday, August 8, in Wingate Nursing Home, South Hadley. Her husband of 30 years, Richard E. Leclair, died in 1977.
She leaves three children, Michael J. Leclair of Chicopee, Stasia Beach of Lindenhurst, Illinois and David P. Leclair of Dudley; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.
She was born in Lewiston, ME, and raised in Auburn, ME, the daughter of Paul and Agnes (Smith) Cholewa. She resided in Swansea and Westboro before moving to Dudley in 1966.
Mrs. Leclair was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Columba’s Anglican Catholic Church. She organized the Friendly Corner at the Church of the Reconciliation in Webster and worked there as a volunteer for 30 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Robert Morris Chapter, in Holyoke.
The funeral will be held Saturday, August 11, at 1:00 PM in the First Congregational Church, 135 Center Road. Burial will be in Corbin Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, August 10, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
