Rosario “Ross” Calococci, of Medford, died Sunday at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 90.
Raised in Boston’s North End, where he met his wife Alice, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Dorosea Calococci. A Medford resident for over 60 years, Ross worked for the Teamsters Union Local #25 and was a warehouseman at Chas. Gilman, before his retirement. Ross was a good husband and father who was dedicated to his family and friends.
He was the beloved husband of Alice (Mestiori), with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Nikki Thorud and her husband Richard of Medford, Tommy Calococci and his wife Virginia of Waltham and Dot Calococci of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of the late Lucy Ventola, Matt Calococci, Phyllis Marzano and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Thursday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
