Obituary

Orlando, FL - Jose G. Reyes-Soto, 80, of Orlando FL, formerly of Brockton, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Rita (Babineau) Reyes.

Born March 18, 1927, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Daniel Reyes and Irene Reyes-Soto.

Mr. Reyes-Soto served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, during the Korean War, and received the Occupation Medal Germany and the National Defense Service Medal.
He resided in Boston after being discharged as a disabled veteran.

He resided with his family in Brockton for many years, before moving to Orlando 15 years ago.

Mr. Reyes-Soto was an avid bowler during his youth and enjoyed gardening and daily walks during his retirement.

He was also a Cleveland Indians fan, but faithfully followed the Red Sox.

Mr. Reyes-Soto enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.

He was the husband of Rita (Babineau) Reyes; father of Debra Griffin of Winter Park, FL, Diane Hammond of Petersberg, NY, Cheryl Blanchette, Christina Thompson and Daniel Reyes, all of Bridgewater, and Dana Reyes of Wakefield; brother of Juan and Pablo Reyes of Ohio, Tano Reyes of Boston, Carmen Reyes of Pennsylvania and the late Mary Colon, Antonio, Nicholas, Carlos and Luis Reyes. He will be sadly missed by all, including his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who adored and admired their Papa.

Funeral from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Monday at 8:15 am. Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9. Burial Mass National Cemetery, Bourne, at 11 am. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 pm.
