Mr. Thomas Joseph Finneran, beloved husband of Maureen A. (Adams) Finneran of Andover, Massachusetts, died at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Saturday, July 28, 2007. He was 67 years old.
Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, on February 17, 1940, he was the beloved son of Hugh C. and Elsie (Weidemann) Finneran. Mr. Finneran was a Vice President for 18 years at Quaker Fabrics and the Vice President of sales for Joan Fabrics in Lowell for many years as well. He also had served in the management department and sales for many years in the textile industry. Mr. Finneran was a long time member of St. Augustine Church in Andover, Massachusetts, for many years. He attended Notre Dame and was a graduate of Hofstra University in New York, Class of 1965 and was very active in his son’s high school and college sports.
He is survived by his beloved wife Maureen A. (Adams) Finneran of Andover, six loving son’s and five daughter’s-in-law; Thomas “Chip” and his wife Kristen Finneran of Greensboro, NC, Robert and his wife Lisa Finneran of Andover, Sean Patrick and his wide Melissa Finneran of Atkinson, N.H., Brendan and his wife Andrea Finneran of Andover, Edward “Ned” Finneran of Andover and Neil and his wife Nicole Finneran of Newton, nine grandchildren; Thomas Joseph “TJ”, Ryan, Michael, Connor, Kerri, Sean Patrick, Caitlin, Daniel and Jack Thomas. He is also survived by four nieces, seven nephews and Elizabeth Finneran of Greensboro, NC.
A funeral mass was celebrated in Thomas’ memory at St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at 10:30 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Tuesday, July 31, 2007, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover. Donations in Thomas’ memory may be made to Central Catholic High School, 300 Hampshire Street, Lawrence, Massachusetts 01841.
