Joseph Gizzi, “Giz” 50, of Medford, died Sunday in Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. Beloved husband of Sandra L. (Scurini) Gizzi. Born in Medford, son of Fred Gizzi of Medford and the late Ruth (Ciampa) Gizzi. In earlier years He worked as a mechanical valve assembler, for the Automated Valve Company.
“Giz” loved to cook and to ride his motorcycle. He was family minded man and particularly enjoyed spending time in Maine.
He is survived by a daughter Janet Gizzi of Medford, two sisters: Debbie Gizzi-Valente and her husband Joseph and Susan Gizzi-Artz and her husband David. A brother: Nicholas Gizzi all of Medford. Son in law of Carol Scurini of Medford and the late Caesar Scurini, Godfather of Kristina Murphy of Medford; Nephew of Janet Steeves of Medford, Dear Friend of Paul and Nancy Murphy, Kevin and Donna Murphy, Jean and Ronnie Bowen all of Medford, and Bobby Clooney of Weare NH.. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8:30pm. In the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street Medford. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations may be sent to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 Or the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Boston, 71 Arsenal Street, Watertown MA. 02472. Interment will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
