DRACUT - Melvin W. Donnellan, age 92, beloved husband of Eleanor (Rogers) Donnellan, died August 6, 2007 at Westford House Nursing Home in Westford. Mr. and Mrs. Donnellan would celebrated 67 years of marriage on August 8th. He was born April 26, 1915. Mr. Donnellan was a resident of Dracut since 1954.
Mr. Donnellan was raised in N. Billerica son of the late Mary (Walker) Donnellan and Edward Donnellan. He graduated from Howe High School in Billerica and Lowell Textile. He also attended the University of Lowell. He worked at the Talbot Mills as a spinner and as an engineer at Raytheon in Lowell and retired from Sanders in Nashua.
In his retirement, Mr. Donnellan enjoyed daily Mass, gardening, walking, and spending time with his family. He also was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his wife and loving children, his daughter Eleanor and her husband Anthony Boucher of Westford; his son, William Donnellan of Tyngsboro, his sister, Barbara (Donnellan) Bacci and husband Robert Bacci of Billerica; his brother Raymond Donnellan of Lake Placid, NY. He had many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Donnellan also leaves four devoted grandchildren, Anthony Boucher and his wife Renee of Dracut, Barbara Boucher of Tyngsboro, Michael Boucher of Seattle, WA, and Jennifer Ross and husband William of Westford.
Mr. Donnellan also had three great-grandsons, twins Michael and Alex Ross of Westford and Harrison Boucher of Dracut.
He was the brother of the late Mary (Donnellan) Little and her husband the late Robert of Dracut and the late Edward Donnellan and his wife the late Mildred of Lowell. He was the brother-in-law to the late Geraldine Donnellan of Lake Placid, NY. He was the uncle of the late Paul Bacci of Winchester and Edward McDermott of Lowell.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 8 until 9:30a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10a.m. at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, Dracut. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
