DUDLEY - Aldor J. “Uncle” Barrette, 96, formerly of West Street, died Saturday, August 4, in Lanessa Nursing Home.

He leaves his wife of 72 years, Anna B. (Plaza) Barrette; a sister, Evelyn Barrette of North Grosvenordale, CT; his in-laws, Helen Burt of Webster and Stephen and Jayne Plaza of Dudley; many nephews and nieces. Two brothers died before him.

He was born and raised in Thompson, CT, a son of Joseph and Melina (Forcier) Barrette and moved to Dudley in 1933. He was married on September 10, 1934. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.

Mr. Barrette was a mill hand at a woolen mill in North Grosvenordale, CT for over 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church.

The funeral will be held Friday, August 10, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors. Calling hours are from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday, August 9, in the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Andrew Bobola Church Elevator Fund, 54 West Main St., PO Box 98, Dudley, MA 01571-0098.
