Arthur J. Lortie, Sr., 80, of Mansfield died unexpectedly on Monday August 6, 2007 at home. He was the beloved husband of Emily L. (Cutillo) Lortie.
Born in Attleboro, MA on October 30, 1926 he was a son of the late Albert and Antoinette (Lizotte) Lortie.
He grew up in North Attleboro and was educated in North Attleboro schools. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman, First Class.
Mr. Lortie was a retired Polisher having worked for the former Swank Inc. in Attleboro. He retired after 45 years of faithful service.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield Arthur was also a member of the Mansfield VFW. He took great pride in the taking care of his yard and enjoyed the times spent with his family. Mr. Lortie had made his home in Mansfield for the past 60 years.
Besides his wife Emily he is survived by his devoted sons; Arthur J. Lortie, Jr. and his wife Judith of Plainville and Robert F. Lortie of Mansfield. His granddaughter Janelle A. Long of North Attleboro. He was the brother of Alfred Lortie of Attleboro and the late Lorraine Grady. Also survived by his brother in laws Samuel Cutillo of Mansfield and John Cutillo of Arizona as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday August 9th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St.(Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday August 8th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
